The BioScreen VES is a grit classifier designed for the pre-treatment of municipal or industrial wastewater.

It separates sand, gravel and sediment particles, particularly from a grit and grease separator. Mineral matter is extracted in order to protect downstream treatment equipment.

The BioScreen VES can extract up to 90% of sediments with a diameter greater than 0.2 / 0.3 mm, with a minimum organic matter content of 10%.

BIOTRADE supplies different types of grit classifiers depending on the inlet flow rate, the installation configuration and site constraints.

The BioScreen VES is manufactured in compliance with CE standards and can be integrated into new or existing installations.

  • Tank: manufactured in 304L or 316L stainless steel, depending on the environment.
  • Archimedean screw: shaftless screw made of high mechanical strength steel.
  • Wear part: anti-abrasion component made of HB-400 steel.
  • Connection: inlet and outlet pipes mounted on swivel flanges.
  • Inspection: hatches allowing visual access to the outlet chute.
  • Grit classifier for municipal or industrial wastewater.
  • Separation of sand, gravel and sediments.
  • Extraction of 90% of sediments with a diameter greater than 0.2 / 0.3 mm.
  • Minimum organic matter content of 10%.
  • Accepted flow rates up to 100 m³/h.
  • Tank in 304L or 316L stainless steel.
  • Shaftless Archimedean screw made of high mechanical strength steel.
  • Anti-abrasion wear part in HB-400 steel.
  • Swivel flanges for easier connection.

The BioScreen VES range is designed to handle flow rates of up to 100 m³/h and meets grit separation requirements in wastewater pre-treatment installations.

What is the extraction rate of the BioScreen VES?

The BioScreen VES extracts 90% of sediments with a diameter greater than 0.2 / 0.3 mm, with a minimum organic matter content of 10%.

What is the maximum accepted flow rate?

The maximum flow rate can reach 100 m³/h, depending on the model.

What protects the screw against abrasion?

An HB-400 anti-abrasion steel wear part is installed in the lower section to withstand repeated friction from sand and gravel.

What materials are available?

The tank is available in 304L or 316L stainless steel. The shaftless Archimedean screw is made of high mechanical strength steel.

How is the hydraulic connection made?

The inlet and outlet pipes are equipped with swivel flanges to make orientation easier during installation.
