Conveying and Compacting Screw

Equipment for conveying and compacting waste from screening operations.

Vue en coupe 3D de la vis de convoyage et compactage Biotrade avec l'option rampe de lavage intégrée et électrovanne de rinçage

The VC conveying and compacting screw is designed to convey and compact waste from screening operations.

Compacting is carried out by a shaftless Archimedean screw, which conveys the screenings into a compacting zone equipped with a perforated screen. The waste is then compressed by a hinged flap in order to reduce its volume and water content.

In the standard version, the dry solids content of the screenings can reach 20 to 30%. With an extended perforated screen, it can reach 30 to 40%. Waste volume can be reduced by up to 50%, making storage, handling and disposal easier.

BIOTRADE conveying and compacting screws are manufactured in compliance with CE standards and can be integrated into new or existing installations.

They are designed to operate with various screening equipment, including curved screens, vertical screens, inclined screens and rotary drum screens.

  • Stainless steel trough: stainless steel trough from 1 to 10 m, with a thickness of 3 mm.
  • HDPE inner trough: 8 to 10 mm wear part designed to reduce friction.
  • Compacting zone: stainless steel perforated screen with drainage recovery.
  • Drainage zone: equipped with an inspection hatch for easier maintenance.
  • Archimedean screw: shaftless screw made of high mechanical strength steel.
  • Available diameters: 150 or 200 mm depending on project requirements.
  • Conveying and compacting of screenings waste.
  • Shaftless Archimedean screw made of high-strength steel.
  • Length from 1 to 10 m depending on the configuration.
  • Screw diameter of 150 or 200 mm.
  • Stainless steel trough with HDPE inner wear part.
  • Screenings dry solids content of 20 to 30% in the standard version.
  • Dry solids content up to 30 to 40% with an extended perforated screen.
  • Waste volume reduction of up to 50%.
  • Can be installed on new or existing structures.

The VC range is designed for conveying and compacting waste from screening operations. It can be sized according to the required length, screw diameter, type of waste to be treated and site installation constraints.

What dry solids content can be obtained with the VC screw?

The dry solids content obtained is 20 to 30% in the standard version and 30 to 40% with the extended perforated screen version. Waste volume can be reduced by up to 50%.

What is the maximum length of a VC screw?

The length can range from 1 to 10 metres depending on site requirements and the installation configuration.

What screw diameter is available?

Two standard diameters are available: 150 mm or 200 mm, made of high mechanical strength steel.

How is rapid trough wear prevented?

The inside of the 3 mm stainless steel trough is fitted with a high-density polyethylene inner trough, 8 to 10 mm thick. This lining reduces friction and acts as a replaceable wear part.

Can the VC operate in freezing conditions?

Yes, with the frost-protection heating resistor option.
