The Aval BioScreen DS vertical bar screen is ideally suited for screening municipal, industrial, or pumping station wastewater. It separates solids by lifting debris against a fixed upstream screen before discharging it downstream.

The BioScreen DS can be installed in a channel or a circular shaft, allowing it to adapt to various installation configurations.

BIOTRADE markets several models of BioScreen DS vertical bar screens, ranging from the DS 600 to the DS 1500. Available bar spacings range from 6 to 50 mm, depending on the installation’s requirements.

  • 1 vertical frame made of 304L or 316L stainless steel, in multiple sections.

To complete the screening installation, the BioScreen DS can be combined with various screenings treatment equipment.

  • The VC compacting screw is designed for the conveying and compacting of screenings. It can achieve screenings dry solids content of 30 to 35% and volume reduction of up to 50%, making storage and disposal easier. Length up to 10 m.
  • The conveying screw transfers screenings between the screen and the treatment or storage equipment. Robust and reliable, it adapts to different installation configurations. Length up to 10 m.
  • The CVL washer press conveys, washes and compacts screenings. Washing reduces the organic matter content of the screenings, while compacting can achieve dry solids content of up to 50% and volume reduction of up to 70%, reducing nuisance and disposal costs. Conveying tube length up to 10 m.

  • Connection box with terminals, emergency stop, Manual / 0 / Auto selector switch, up and down push buttons.
  • Control and automation panel.
  • Isolator switch.
  • Thermal protection devices.

What is the difference between the BioScreen DS and the BioScreen BV?

The BioScreen DS discharges screenings downstream of the screen, while the BioScreen BV discharges them upstream. The DS is preferred when the conveyor or screenings hopper is located on the filtered water outlet side.

Can the BioScreen DS be installed in a circular pumping station?

Yes, the BioScreen DS is compatible with both civil engineering channels and circular pumping stations.

What under-coping lengths are available?

Under-coping lengths range from 1 to 10 metres on all models, allowing different installation depths to be covered.

What screening gap is available?

The screening gap can be adjusted from 6 mm to 50 mm, depending on the required passage threshold and the type of effluent.

What is the protection rating of the electrical boxes?

The electrical boxes are made of polycarbonate with an IP66 / IP67 protection rating according to EN 60529.
