BIOTRADE sludge thickeners are designed to adapt to all types of circular tanks, whether for municipal or industrial wastewater treatment plants.

They operate on the same principle as rake thickeners, but without a rake: they provide efficient sludge scraping and thickening with a robust design that can be adapted to all types of civil engineering structures.

Technical Specifications

  • Structure: 304L or 316L stainless steel, with other materials available on request. Drive unit: horizontal gear motor with toothed wheel. Rake: UPN frame and angle bars. Bottom scraping: louvered or continuous blades with rubber scraper strip. Clifford: stainless steel, supported by adjustable tubular supports. Rotation indicator: visual indicator or electronic detector.

What materials are available?

BIOTRADE offers 304L or 316L stainless steel for the immersed structure, as well as aluminium options for walkways.

What is the standard rake height?

The rake height generally corresponds to one third of the tank height, but it can be adjusted according to the project requirements.

What is the difference between a rake thickener and a lamella clarifier scraper?

The rake thickener uses an angle-bar rake for scraping. The lamella clarifier scraper operates without a rake, with blades adapted to lamella clarifiers.

What are the manufacturing lead times?

Drawings are usually issued approximately 2 weeks after validation of the requirements. Manufacturing then takes around 14 weeks, with an indicative lead time that may vary depending on the selected options.

Can a walkway or ladder be added?

Yes, BIOTRADE can provide aluminium or stainless steel walkways, immersed side ladders and access gates as optional equipment.
